Fans have been quick to defend Kate Beckinsale‘s honor after she recently revealed mistreatment by men on movie sets… And that means trying to identify which co-star was the biggest jerk!
If you didn’t see, the Serendipity star spoke out about the Blake Lively legal action against It Ends With Us co-star/director Justin Baldoni. She explained she didn’t know them or the situation personally, but she knew the M.O. of the powers that be — who protect men who act like trash. She said in her Instagram video:
“…what is highlighted is this machine that goes into effect when a woman complains about something legitimately offensive, upsetting, harmful or whatever in this industry.”
She went on to discuss her own worst experiences. On one movie, she said, her male co-star was “drunk every day” and couldn’t even be bothered to learn his lines. That often caused hours of delay — meaning she didn’t get to see her daughter. While she had “full sympathy for” the obvious fact this guy was having a rough time personally, she had to call out how unprofessional he was being. What did Kate get for speaking out? She says the actor called her a “c**t” and a “stupid bitch” — right to her face! She said:
“I was waiting, as was the crew, for six hours a day for him to learn his lines. It means I’m not getting to see my daughter in the evenings the whole movie. The studio’s response was to give me a bike so I could ride around the studio lot while I was waiting. And then of course I was called a c**t and a bitch. During a take I was called a ‘stupid bitch.’”
Wow.

Immediately Kate’s fierce defenders tried to suss out who this jerk was, and many quickly came to a shocking conclusion… they think it must have been Luke Wilson.
One X (Twitter) user wrote:
“Does his name rhyme with Schmuke Schmilson?”
When others asked why anyone would think that about the affable actor, multiple fans posted references to awful stories from when they were in a movie together. Kate and Luke co-starred in the 2007 thriller Vacancy, about a couple being terrorized at a roadside motel. Apparently at the time the real horror was in the tales coming from the set:

JoBlo published a lengthier account of the film’s troubles back in June of this year. They specifically cited The New York Post from the time:
“Allegedly, Luke Wilson would show up hungover, late, and unprepared frequently and brag to others on set about his sexual conquests the night before.”
