HBO Unveils Trailer for Seth Meyers Comedy Special ‘Dead Man Walking’
HBO has released the trailer for Seth Meyers‘ new comedy special “Dead Man Waking,” which premieres Oct. 26 on HBO and Max.
According to an official logline, Meyers’ first HBO stand-up special sees him shift “focus to his personal life – from the chaos of raising three young kids, to navigating different communication styles in marriage, to the proper way to cross the street in New York City. Taped at The Vic Theatre in Chicago, ‘Seth Meyers: Dad Man Walking’ showcases Meyers’ effortless conversational style as he offers up hilarious reflections on family, generational legacies, and why his kids provide the best material for his comedy.”
Neal Brennan serves as director. Executive producers include Meyers, Mike Shoemaker, Tim Sarkes and John Irwin. Chelsea Alonzi produces.

Sony Pictures Television has revealed the teaser trailer for “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” starring David Schwimmer. The new season of the horror anthology series premieres all eight episodes Jan. 10, 2025, on Disney+ and Hulu.
According to the official synopsis, “’Goosebumps: The Vanishing’ begins when twins Cece (Jayden Bartels) and Devin Brewer (Sam McCarthy) are sent to spend a summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn, with their divorced dad. A threat is stirring, and they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, Cece, Devin and their friends — Alex (Francesca Noel), CJ (Elijah M. Coope) and Frankie (Galilea La Salvia) — find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.”
Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman developed “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” with showrunner Hilary Winston. The trio serves as executive producers with Neal H. Moritz, Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Erin O’Malley, Karl Frankenfield and James Eagan.

“American Dad!” returns to TBS on Monday, Oct. 28, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The recurring animated sitcom follows CIA agent Stan Smith and his unconventional family through their wild misadventures in Langley Falls, Virginia.
In the upcoming season, the Smiths face a wide range of challenges which include a nightmarish attempt to climb Mount Everest, the reopening of the Langley Falls boardwalk, Roger falling ill with a mysterious condition, and Klaus facing an imposter.
Joining the main cast — Seth MacFarlane, Wendy Schaal, Scott Grimes, Rachael MacFarlane, Jeff Fischer, Dee Bradley Baker and Patrick Stewart — are guest stars Kevin Bacon, Charles Barkley, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Gabriel Iglesias, Michael Imperioli, Leslie Jones, Neal McDonough, Joel McHale and Kyra Sedgwick.
Additionally, Oct. 25, Hollywood Records will release the “American Dad!: Greatest Hits” soundtrack, featuring memorable songs performed by the cast throughout the show’s run.
The animated comedy, created by MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, is produced by 20th Television Animation. It is executive produced by co-showrunner Brian Boyle, alongside MacFarlane and Weitzman.

DEVELOPMENT/PRODUCTION
Netflix has announced that Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, and Paul Ben-Victor will join the cast of its upcoming action series “Man on Fire.” The series, based on A.J. Quinnell’s book and it follows Creasy, a former Special Forces mercenary battling PTSD, who is drawn back into action to protect a young girl.
Braga, known for “City of God” and “Suicide Squad,” will play Valeria Melo, a professional driver with ties to a local gang. McNairy, recognized for roles in “Nightbitch” and “A Complete Unknown,” will portray Henry Tappan, a CIA field agent in Brazil. Ben-Victor, from “The Wire” and “Pam & Tommy,” will play CIA Director Moncrief.
Previously announced cast members include Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as John Creasy, Billie Boullet as Poe Rayburn, and Bobby Cannavale as Paul Rayburn.
The showrunner and executive producer is Kyle Killen (“Halo”, “Awake”). The eight-episode series will be directed by Steven Caple Jr. (“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” “Creed II”) and produced by New Regency Productions and Chernin Entertainment.

Four-time Grammy Award winning country star Keith Urban is to headline and co-host “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash” on CBS. He will present alongside returning host Rachel Smith from Entertainment Tonight.
As previously announced, the special will feature performances from country music’s hottest superstars, including Kane Brown and Jelly Roll. The musical special will air across multiple time zones, with the traditional countdown at midnight, ET, culminating with the renowned Nashville music note drop and fireworks at midnight CT.
The show airs on Tuesday, Dec. 31. It will run for five hours from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. ET/PT with a 30-minute break between 10 and 10:30 p.m. It will also be available to stream on Paramount+ live and on demand. The big bash is executive produced by Robert Deaton and Mary Hilliard Harrington in partnership with Music City Inc, and it will be directed by Sandra Restrepo.
