How Tom Holland And Zendaya Kept The Early Days Of Dating 'Under Wraps,' According To This Co-Star! 

Zendaya knew how to keep her romance with Tom Holland undercover!

Tom and Zendaya may be happily engaged now, but when they first got together, they tried really hard to keep their chemistry from everyone! After meeting on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, they instantly hit it off and sparked dating rumors, which they denied at the time.

But Z’s co-stars on her Disney Channel series K.C. Undercover at the time knew something was up! Speaking to People on Tuesday (celebrating the 10th anniversary of the show’s premiere), the actress’ on-screen mother Tammy Townsend recalled the couple keeping their relationship “under wraps” when they were “first dating” while Zendaya worked on the kids’ comedy. The 54-year-old shared:

“I knew it was serious. Tom would just come through and see what we were doing.”

She recalled that the cast “definitely knew that there was a really strong connection” between the Marvel co-stars — even though they apparently didn’t own up to it at the time. That said, Tammy called Tom “a really cool kid.” Aw!

Zenday’s on-screen little sister in the series, Trinitee Stokes, added that Tom spent a few weeks “just hanging around” the set while Zendaya filmed the show. The 18-year-old gushed:

“He’s so funny. I love Tom, and I honestly have been so happy to watch this progression in their relationship because he’s such a great guy.”

Getting to see the lovebirds go from the early days of romance to an engagement has been an “exciting journey” for the young performer. We bet! It’s been exciting as an outsider, and we weren’t privy to the romance most of the time!

After denying romance rumors in 2017, Tom and Zendaya were caught kissing in July 2021, shortly before he ultimately went public with their romance in a sweet birthday tribute to his girlfriend that same year. Since then, they’ve been slightly more open about their relationship — though they’re still SUPER private. Heck, they didn’t even make a formal proposal announcement, Zendaya just stepped out in public wearing that rock! Iconic.

Kinda perfect that Zendaya was perfecting her undercover skills while working on a show about being an undercover spy. LOLz!
