Gracie Abrams Misses Out On Another No. 1 Hit By Just One Space

Gracie Abrams steps away from the spotlight on the most important list of the most-consumed songs in the U.K. this week, after ruling for a fairly long stretch. As her single “That’s So True” dips, allowing a newcomer to claim their first winner, another one of the rising star’s most popular tunes debuts on a pair of lists, and almost earns Abrams more leaders.

“I Love You I’m Sorry” debuts on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts this week. It opens in second place on the two tallies, instantly earning Abrams a new top 10 smash—and it almost became a quick champion.

This week, both of those lists, which measure sales on any physical medium and specifically on vinyl, respectively, are dominated by the same tune. Lola Young’s “Messy” opens in first place, earning the brand new talent her first leader on the two rankings. That same single is also in charge of the main songs chart, where it stops Abrams’ “That’s So True” from continuing its winning streak.

“I Love You I’m Sorry” marks Abrams’ biggest hit on the Official Vinyl Singles ranking as it launches. It outpaces the No. 5 peak of “I Know It Won’t Work,” which stood as her loftiest placement—and only top 10—until this frame.

She’s already reached the top spot on the Official Physical Singles roster, however. Last year, “Risk” earned Abrams her inaugural ruler on that ranking.

Abrams has scored a trio of top 10s on the physical-focused chart, including both “Risk” and her new smash, “I Love You I’m Sorry.” On the ranking dated January 4, 2024—which was actually published in 2023—“I Know It Won’t Work” launched at No. 7, which ended up becoming the tune’s high point.

“I Love You I’m Sorry” is not new to the U.K. charts, though it does manage to debut on these specific rosters this frame. The popular cut also climbs to a new high on the Official Singles Sales ranking, where it surges from No. 80 to No. 6, giving Abrams her second top 10 on that tally.

The same smash is also living inside the top 40 on the main list of the most-consumed songs across the pond, as it improves from No. 43 to No. 38. It’s still present inside the top 20 on the list of the most-streamed tunes in the U.K., where it keeps at No. 20.
