Jenni Kayne Opens Branded Farmhouse in Tivoli, New York

Jenni Kayne, the California design brand known for $500 cashmere cardigans and $5,000 linen bed frames in the same aggressive neutrals, bought a farmhouse in Tivoli. It announced this week that it was opening “the Jenni Kayne Farmhouse” in the upstate village and has, of course, furnished it in all–Jenni Kayne fineries — from the Hampton Counter Stool to the Hudson Glass Candle. It’s part showroom, part spa (also using Jenni Kayne wellness products, naturally).

Tivoli was a natural fit for this kind of thing with upstate becoming even more of a luxury-real-estate playground in recent years. (“Upstate New York has always been on our radar,” the chief executive officer of Oak Essentials, the company’s beauty brand, told Women’s Wear Daily.) The 2,150-square-foot farmhouse has four bedrooms, all shoppable, three baths, an open chef’s kitchen, a pool, and a sauna. The property will also include the Oak Wellness Club in an adjacent greenhouse. You can buy nesting baskets until you’re ready to pass out, then revive yourself with facials and acupuncture.

Kayne is now something of a real estate flipper out in California. Along with her husband, Richard Ehrlich, a luxury real estate broker, she has been buying up houses to convert, temporarily, into Jenni Kayne experiences and then sell at a hefty markup. First there was Jenni Kayne Lake House, an airy four-bedroom on Lake Arrowhead, two hours outside of Los Angeles, that the pair appears to have bought in 2019 for $1.1 million and sold less than a year later for $1.7 million. There’s also Jenni Kayne Hillside Haven in Brentwood and Jenni Kayne Ranch in Santa Ynez, all shoppable, from the couches to the house itself. (The ranch was bought for $950,000 in 2020 and sold two years later for $6 million.)

The space will open this fall, just in time for all the rich people returning from their summer beach houses to buy some expensive cashmere throws for their rustic farmhouses.
