Not all of Kate Beckinsale’s followers are spreading love and friendship.
And recently, the Love & Friendship actress clapped back at her social media critics.
“Let’s have a toast for the douche bags,” Kate wrote on Instagram July 8 alongside a video of herself wearing a pink hamster set along with a black hairnet, matching bow and knee-high boots. “Let’s have a toast for the a–holes. Let’s have a toast for the scumbags.”
She also had a few words for her body-shamers. After one social media user commented on the video by writing, “Go do some squats @katebeckinsale I think ur ass ran away,” the Pearl Harbor star quickly issued a reply.
“No, actually, I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer,” she wrote, “and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite quickly.”
Added Kate, “and then I was in hospital for six weeks because the grief had burned a hole in my oesophagus [sic] which made me vomit copious amounts of blood, and I found eating very hard and I just worked very very hard on a movie that was actually quite triggering because it also involved the theme of the death of my father so l’m not really concerned about what you think about my ass.”
She then ended her message with some words of advice.
“Maybe you should worry about your own f–king ass,” the Underworld alum continued. “I suggest shoving something up it-like a large pineapple or a brick.”
