Kate Winslet is dropping out of an upcoming Hulu series.

The 49-year-old actress was originally cast in the upcoming A24 production in 2024.

According to Deadline, Kate was to executive produce and star in the series, titled The Spot, and has dropped out of the project.

The Spot follows a surgeon who is suspected of being responsible for the hit-and-run death of a local child. While her husband, a school teacher, tries to uncover the truth of his wife’s accident, more dark secrets are revealed that test their marriage.

Kate was cast to play the lead role of the surgeon but Deadline reports that creative differences have lead to her departure from the series. It’s being reported that production on the series has been put on pause and will resume in early 2026 after a replacement for Kate‘s character has been cast.
