Krispy Kreme Rolls Out Its ‘Minis for Mom’ Collection

This Sunday, May 12, is Mother’s Day. And if you’re wondering what to get for the women you admire and adore, you could go the flowers-and-a-card route — or you could stop by your nearest Krispy Kreme instead. The North Carolina-based doughnut purveyor has released a “Minis for Mom Collection,” featuring its popular miniature-sized doughnuts. 

The limited-edition collection features three new doughnuts. There’s a Mini Strawberry Iced Heart Doughnut that’s topped with pink strawberry icing and an array of sprinkles arranged in the shape of a heart; a Mini Iced Rose Doughnut with a layer of teal icing and a buttercreme rose; and a decadent Mini Chocolate Cookie Crumble Doughnut, which is dipped in chocolate icing and Oreo cookie pieces, before being finished with daisy-shaped sprinkles and a generous dollop of chocolate buttercreme icing. 

“You love your mom, and your mom would love to spend time with you,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s global chief brand officer, said in a statement. “Our Minis for Mom Collection is a sweet way to create mini moments with your mom this Mother’s Day.” 

The new Minis are available in 16-count boxes, which includes four mini-doughnuts in each of the three new flavors — in addition to four Mini Original Glazed doughnuts. All three flavors of the Mom-inspired doughnuts are also available in eight-packs at some supermarkets and retailers. Krispy Kreme also recently made some changes to its Krispy Kreme Rewards loyalty program, which the company says will make it easier for members to earn free doughnuts. Anyone who signs up for the free program between now and Saturday, May 11, will get a free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts (current members were allowed to collect their complimentary dozen on April 30). 

The chain is also offering a dozen straight days of deals, which will continue through May 11. Rewards members receive one free doughnut for signing up, a special birthday treat, and exclusive offers through the Krispy Kreme app. Under the new program, members earn 10 points for every $1 spent, and those points can be cashed in for doughnuts and beverages throughout the year. 

Also, if you’re unsure what to write in your Mother’s Day card, you could do worse than “I signed you up for Krispy Kreme Rewards.”
