I am no stranger to chronically chapped lips, so you can only imagine how many lip treatment products are on my beauty shelf. However, I always go back to Laneige. The South Korean beauty and skincare brand has made a name for itself in the lip category with its internet-favorite Lip Sleeping Mask and Lip Glowy Balm—and yes, I do own and use multiples of each. So, when I heard about the brand’s latest launch, the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum, I had high expectations.
Along with the unique doughnut-shaped, cushy silicone applicator and delectably sweet bakery-inspired scents, the tinted lip serum is stuffed with skincare ingredients: plumping polypeptide, moisture-drawing PGA (polyglutamic acid), and nourishing argan ceramides. Laneige claims that the lip serum provides up to 12 hours of hydration and, with daily use, can help lips look plumper and feel firmer while reducing lines over time.

I’ve never been a fan of lip gloss, but I’m always ready to jump on any Laneige lip launch. I certainly didn’t expect to be so smitten with the buttery-soft formula—especially for a lip gloss skeptic like me. The fun rounded tip can make it a little hard to apply with precision, but I really can’t even complain because the formula instantly soothes my dry, flaky lips.
Real Simple
Despite the high shine, the lip serum also doesn’t call attention to the paper-like texture I often experience without any product on my lips. To apply, I add a generous amount on my bottom lips and press my lips together to spread the formula evenly, and my mouth is immediately enveloped in a ribbon of moisture that feels incredibly comfortable. I’ve worn it for about five hours, tops, at a time, and while the balm eventually fades a bit, I could still feel how moisturized and nourished my lips felt long after I wiped it off.
The lip serum is available in six shades and all feature a gorgeous, delicate tint that would make a lovely topper for lip colors in similar tones. I haven’t found the tint pigmented enough to alter my lipstick colors dramatically, so there’s definitely some flexibility with the colors. The brand also suggests wearing these with just a liner. However, I often wear them on their own and don’t notice any of the formula bleeding onto my skin.
Compared to the Laneige Lip Mask and Glowy Balm, the new Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum is the perfect cross between both products. It’s thicker than the Glowy Balm but still has plenty of shine and nourishing ingredients. The Lip Sleeping Mask is, of course, the densest of the three, but it’s nowhere near as comfortable as the lip serum. The serum has plenty of slip without any stickiness and offers a touch of color. It also lasts much longer than the balm on its own.
Real Simple
Laneige sent me free samples of the Peach Glaze, Sugar Glaze, Chocolate Frosting, and Cinnamon Sugar shades to test, and I often alternate between them depending on my mood. I even logged onto the site to purchase the other two shades, Raspberry Jam and Maple Glaze, and immediately noticed that three colors had already sold out.
I suggest getting your hands on the new Laneige Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum while you still can for $22 each. As a fan of Laneige, below are a few other of my favorite products you should consider adding to your cart.
