Lord of the Rings Trilogy 4K set and Tolkien-illustrated books get big Prime Day discounts

Of the many different editions of The Lord of the Rings books we’ve seen, none have been as gorgeous or felt as complete as The Lord of the Rings: Special Edition, which is on sale ahead of Amazon Prime Day for around $109, 56% off the list price. This one-volume hardback collection contains the full text, printed in both red and black lettering, and features 30 color illustrations, maps, and sketches drawn by Tolkien himself — all packaged to “reflect the classic look of the first edition.”

This is just one of several Tolkien-related sales for Prime Day, which also includes 34% off both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movie trilogy box sets, each containing both the theatrical and the (longer but superior) extended cuts in 4K. There are also several Lord of The Rings games, for those who want to retell the story in their own way.
