Melanie Lynskey feels confident in her husband Jason Ritter‘s ability to fight for her.

The 47-year-old Yellowjackets star responded to fans jokingly inquiring about Jason‘s fighting skills after her 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party appearance.

“Yes, it’s lovely to have someone who will fight for you. He’s not out there trying to take down the lesbian community,” Melanie told TooFab while on celebrating the second season of Poker Face, which she and Jason are both set to have a role in.

“Also, the other day, he was like everybody knows lesbians have the best taste. [I said] ‘Okay, that’s a generalization,’ and he was like, ‘It’s just true, it’s absolutely true,’” she added.

When Melanie appeared at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet with Jason while wearing sparkly red Christian Siriano gown, many online comments started flooding in, asking Jason if he can fight.

Jason later took to X to confirm his fighting abilities, and later posted to Instagram to provide a visual demonstration.
