Pokémon Go ‘A Shadowy Caper’ Marshadow Special Research quest

Marshadow makes its Pokémon Go debut as part of the Special Research given to Pokémon Go Fest Global 2024 ticket holders.

If you don’t want to shell out $14.99 for the ticket, don’t worry. Marshadow will become available to all players at a later date, as per other mythical Pokémon released through events, but until then, you need a paid Go Fest Global ticket to get Marshadow on its debut.

This research is loaded with tons of rewards, like Lucky Eggs, Star Pieces, and Incubators, but you can also catch two regional exclusives for your Pokédex: Corsola and Maractus.

Below we list out all the steps for the Marshadow “A Shadowy Caper” Special Research.

‘A Shadowy Caper’ Special Research quest

Once you have purchased a Go Fest Global 2024 ticket and log into Pokémon Go on Saturday, July 13 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., you will unlock this Special Research. Once you have, there is no deadline to completing the following steps:

• Spin 3 PokéStops or gyms (2 Incense)
• Use an Incense (24 Poké Balls)
• Catch 10 Pokémon (3 Nanab Berries)

Rewards: 2,024 XP, 2 Lure Modules, 2,024 Stardust

• Complete 3 Field Research Tasks (Ducklett encounter)
• Use 5 berries to help catch Pokémon (2 Incubators)
• Catch 10 different species of Pokémon (Dunsparce encounter)

Rewards: 2,024 XP, 2 Poffins, 2,024 Stardust

• Hatch 2 eggs (24 Great Balls)
• Spin 10 PokéStops or gyms (Emolga encounter)
• Earn 2 candies walking with your buddy (Crabrawler encounter)

Rewards: 2,024 XP, Maractus encounter, 2,024 Stardust

• Catch 10 Pokémon (2 Star Pieces)
• Evolve 5 Pokémon (2 Silver Pinap Berries)
• Earn 8,020 Stardust (Corsola encounter)

Rewards: 2,024 XP, Vullaby encounter, 2,024 Stardust

• Power up fighting-type Pokémon 10 times (2 Lucky Eggs)
• Power up ghost-type Pokémon 10 times (Rockruff encounter)
• Earn 8,020 XP (3 Rare Candy)

Rewards: Marshadow T-shirt, Marshadow encounter, 2,024 Stardust

Note if you attended one of the in-person Go Fest events (in Madrid, Sendai, or New York City) and you already have a Marshadow, you’ll get 25 Marshadow Candy instead.
