Pop-Tarts Is Releasing a Massive ‘Party Pastry’ for Its 60th Anniversary

For 60 years, Pop-Tarts have been proving that, yes, you do need a toaster. But its latest creation may require something a little bigger than the average home appliance.

Beginning with an initial rollout of just four flavors (strawberry, blueberry, brown sugar cinnamon, and apple currant), the brand eventually grew to produce dozens of varieties and even a number of offshoot products like Pop-Tarts Bites and Crunchy Poppers. And now, in honor of its 60th birthday, the company has decided to celebrate in a big way, with a massive “Party Pastry” that’s 73 times the size of a regular Pop-Tart. So, yes, in theory, it’s large enough to feed 73 people (or just a handful of ultra-dedicated fans).

This enormous frosted strawberry novelty costs $60 and can be ordered at shop.poptarts.com. There, you can also customize the pastry with a personalized phrase written on the frosting. As the company’s press release notes, these messages “span from unconventional themes to major milestones.” If you manage to snag one — and there’s a very limited supply — it will be delivered directly to your home in a three-foot-tall box.

“Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, kicking off the tailgating season, or just wanting to end brat summer in style, the Pop-Tarts Party Pastry will bring those feel-good, carefree vibes to any occasion,” the company added in its release.

Anyone looking to get their hands on this big, big, big, big breakfast should make note of a few stipulations. Most importantly, it’s only available to those in New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles. In fact, even some boroughs of New York City don’t qualify for delivery, so you’ll have to read the fine print about location. The offer also runs during a very short window — from August 7 at 1 p.m. Eastern to August 9 at 3 p.m. Eastern, or while supplies last, whichever comes first. And those supplies are not designed to last long at all. Only 15 Party Pastries will be produced in each city. You also need to be at least 18 years old to buy one. We’re not sure why it’s an adult-only event, but sure, why not?

Have you finished doing the math? This means there are only 45 giant Pop-Tarts in total and only 50 hours to claim one. So, fans of seriously sizable snacks had better head to the ordering page fast if they wish to receive 936 square inches of highly Instagrammable birthday treat delivered right to their door.
