2025 French Open: Results, schedule, draw, bracket for the fourth round at Roland Garros

The 2025 French Open is in full swing after fourth-round action wrapped up in both the men’s and women’s singles tournaments on Monday.
On the men’s side, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, the No. 2 seed, took on American Ben Shelton with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line. Alcaraz, who has dominated on clay courts and won his first French Open title in 2024, got some resistance from Shelton but ultimately prevailed in four sets.
While Shelton fell, two other Americans advanced to the quarterfinals. First, No. 12 seed Tommy Paul took care of Alexei Popyrin in straight sets. Later Sunday, No. 15 seed Frances Tiafoe did the same, dispatching Daniel Altmaier. In the process, Paul and Tiafoe became the first American men to reach the quarterfinals since Andre Agassi back in 2003.
Top-seeded Jannik Sinner is still looking for his first French Open victory. The furthest he’s ever made it at Roland-Garros is the semifinal, which is where he got last year before falling to Alcaraz. If he’s going to get revenge this year, it would have to be in the final. Sinner and Alcaraz recently battled on clay at the Italian Open — Sinner’s home tournament — where the Spaniard came away with a straight-set victory to earn the tournament title.
Sinner advanced to the quarterfinals on Monday, easily handling Andrey Rublev. He will face Alexander Bublik on Wednesday.
Novak Djokovic, a three-time French Open champion, is the No. 6 seed and defeated Mackenzie McDonald in the first round and Corentin Moutet in the second, both in straight sets. He followed up that strong start by taking down Fili Misolic in the third round on Saturday. He took down Cameron Norrie in straight sets on Monday.
On the women’s side, No. 5 seed Iga Swiatek is still alive in her quest to make it four straight French Open titles, but her historic run looked to be in major jeopardy on Saturday. In the fourth round, Swiatek trailed Elena Rybakina in the decisive third set, but she regained her footing for a comeback victory to lock up a spot in the quarterfinals.
No. 4 seed Jasmine Paolini, who lost to Swiatek in the 2024 final, will not get her shot at revenge this year. In the fourth round, Paolini fell to No. 13 seed Elina Svitolina in a match that saw a marathon second set. This quarterfinals appearance matches Svitolina’s deepest run at Roland-Garros, and she will try to break through for her first semifinals appearance with a win against Swiatek on Tuesday.
One of the clear contenders this year is top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka. She rolled to the quarterfinals last year, but Sabalenka was hampered by a stomach bug in a loss to Mirra Andreeva.
Coco Gauff, the No. 2 seed, notched a doubles win last year, but she has yet to break through with a singles title at Roland-Garros. Gauff has made it to the final before, in 2022, where she lost to Swiatek. Gauff took down Ekaterina Alexandrova in the fourth round on Monday.
Monday was a big day for upsets, with men’s No. 5 Jack Draper losing to Bublik and women’s No. 3 Jessica Pegula falling to world No. 361 Lois Boisson.
The 2025 French Open began on Sunday, May 25 and will run for two weeks. The women’s final is on June 7, and the men’s final is one day later on June 8.
