Naya Rivera‘s ex Ryan Dorsey opened up about their relationship and what it was like after they divorced.

The Glee actress, who tragically passed away at the age of 33 in 2020, was married to Ryan between 2014 and 2018. They share a nine-year-old son named Josey.

In a new interview, Ryan revealed that they had considered having another child and moving to Hawaii even after they split up. He also shed some light on their on-and-off relationship over the years.

“I wish it would’ve worked out,” Ryan told People. “I wish we could have worked everything out, had a few kids, lived happily ever after. But that’s not the way life works for everybody.”

Ryan said that he “always thought about her,” even when they weren’t together.

“I thought she was someone that I could marry, because we were just so silly and we got each other,” he shared. “When things were good, they were really good. As time goes by, you remember more of the good times than all the other drama.”

He said that the pair “went back and forth playing house” after they got divorced.

“We were going to try to have another baby and all the things. We went to Maui to look at places and get a fresh start, and then we fell out again…If I knew what I know now, I would’ve tried to do things differently to make it work,” he said.

Ryan reflected on Naya earlier this year on what would have been her 38th birthday. He also responded to a rumor about her sister.
