Cuisinart Venture Portable Gas Grill

Amazon

The nearly 30% off Cuisinart Venture grill is our favorite portable grill of all time. Aside from its easy-to-carry design (which looks like a lunch box), it delivers incredible heat distribution to make it equally as effective as it is portable. The surface is 154 square inches, and the cast iron grates provided an even sear on everything we cooked. It’s also easy to set up, too. Use it on the beach, on a camping trip, or on a tailgate. The options are pretty much endless.

Weber Genesis E-325 3-Burner Gas Grill

Wayfair

This is the best gas grill from Weber, according to our tests. It ranked highly because it was so easy to use, and it offered excellent heat control each time we used it. The nearly 800 square-inch surface could fit around 20 burgers, so there’s plenty of space for any upcoming barbecues. There are three burners, which are great for creating different temperature zones. We also love the generous sear zone for getting extra char for certain recipes. We found that it was durably constructed, and the built-in thermometer was accurate enough to use comfortably. On sale at Wayfair, it’s more than worthy of space on your deck or patio.

Traeger Timberline

Williams Sonoma

There’s a reason the Traeger Timberline ranks across three separate guides from us. It’s our best splurge pick for pellet grills in general, our best splurge pick for Traeger grills, and our best splurge pick compared to all other grills entirely. We’re well aware that it’s an investment, but we think it’s one worth making. It heats evenly, it recovers quickly to temperature changes, and its wide array of features make it that much more worth its value. As a pellet grill, you can use it to slowly smoke ingredients, or you can use the grill grates for quick meals. It has touch screen controls and WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. With 880 square inches of grilling space, it has one of the bigger surface areas of the grills on our list. Shop it at $300 off at Williams Sonoma right now.

Pit Boss 440 Series Wood Pellet Grill

Amazon

On the flip side, this Pit Boss option is our favorite value pick for pellet grills. The reason this now-under $400 grill ranked highly is due to its heat management and retention. We found it performed better in these categories in comparison to more expensive options. It performs best for shorter-term smoking and grilling projects, providing a smoky clean flavor and the perfect sear. It’s also just a generally straightforward, fuss-free grill, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for that.

Traeger Pro Series 780 Grill

Williams Sonoma

After testing as many Traeger grills as we could, the Pro Series 780 model ranked as our favorite from the brand. It also ranked as our favorite pellet smoker, and our favorite large capacity pellet grill. When weighed against its price, we truly felt it couldn’t be beat. It performed exceptionally well in short-term smoking tests, giving everything a consistent cook with a smooth, balanced taste. It comes with a few added features too, like WiFi connectivity and a digital temperature display. Score it on sale at Williams Sonoma or Amazon for $200 off.

Traeger Ironwood 885 Grill

Amazon

The Traeger 885 model ranked as our favorite value pick from the brand. The reason it’s our favorite value is because of its right-in-the-middle design. It has more features than the 780, but slightly less than the Timberline, all at an in-between price. You’re still going to get excellent heat retention like the two other models, and we found it smoked and baked everything incredibly well in our tests. It’s the perfect pick if you want something special, but you don’t want to pay more than $1,500. With the sale, it’s as low as $1,250, depending on which retailer you choose.

PK Grills Portable Charcoal Grill and Smoker

PKGrills

If you want to invest in a charcoal grill that’s a little more pricey than typical models, this PK Grills pick is the one we recommend most. It ranked as our favorite grill and smoker combo, as well as our favorite splurge-worthy charcoal grill. We love its versatility, and it works great at both high or low temperatures. It’s not often that we find models that can use charcoal to grill and smoke effectively, but this one passed our tests. Its unique shape and added vents help control temperatures more easily. We also found it easy to assemble, and you can remove the grill from its cart for added portability if you need to. It’s the perfect grill if you want an all-in-one charcoal option. Score this top pick for $525 right now.

Weber Performer Deluxe Charcoal Grill

Wayfair

The best charcoal grill is this Weber pick. During our tests, we found that it was truly beginner-friendly, so it’s perfect if you want to experiment with something new. It sears and heats well without needing to make too many adjustments during the cooking process. We also loved how easy it is to clean, since there’s a built-in rod that sweeps remnants away into an ash catcher. It’s expensive, but we found it on sale right now at Wayfair, just in time for all of your favorite summer recipes.
