‘Severance’ Podcast Launched by Ben Stiller and Adam Scott
When “Severance” returns for Season 2 on Jan. 17, its mysteries and cliffhangers will surely leave fans with plenty of burning questions. Enter “The Severance Podcast With Ben Stiller and Adam Scott,” a companion podcast to the sci-fi series that will provide analysis and weekly insights from the show’s star and director.
The podcast will launch with two episodes focused on Season 1 of “Severance” on Jan. 7. The following Season 1 episodes will be released daily on weekdays through Jan. 16, before the podcast begins to cover Season 2 when it premieres on Apple TV+ on Jan. 17. New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays throughout Season 2 of “Severance.”
Guests on the podcast will include “Severance” creator Dan Erickson; executive producer Jackie Cohn; and stars Zach Cherry (Dylan), John Turturro (Irving) and Britt Lower (Helly). Celebrity superfans of the show, like Jon Stewart, will also make appearances.
Stiller executive produces and directs “Severance,” which stars Scott as Mark Scout, an employee at a shady corporation that forces its workers to undergo a procedure that separates their home lives and work lives. In the first season of the workplace thriller, the employees begin to uncover the troubling secrets of the office and learn the truth about their jobs — and themselves.
“We have severed ourselves from the world for five years making this show. While we have no memory of what happened during that time, we thought we should do a podcast for all the Innies who will have no recollection of watching, in an attempt to reintegrate them with their memory of the show,” Stiller and Scott said in a joint statement. “We’re happy not to be working with Lumon Industries on this podcast and instead to be bringing it to the world with Audacy Podcasts, who would never send us to the break room.”
The podcast will be produced by Audacy’s Pineapple Street Studios — the banner behind the official companion podcasts to “Succession,” “The Last of Us,” “Chernobyl,” “Hacks,” “House of the Dragon,” “Foundation” and “The Rings of Power” — in partnership with Stiller’s Red Hour and Scott’s Great Scott.
“We’re huge fans of ‘Severance’ and of what Ben and Adam have created with this wholly original and thought-provoking series, and couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with them to go behind-the-scenes and into the world of Lumon,” said Jenna Weiss-Berman, EVP of Audacy Podcasts. “‘The Severance Podcast’ is a rich addition to the Audacy Podcasts slate and offers stellar content for listeners and exciting opportunities for clients.”
