Shaboozey was not impressed by a comment made by Megan Moroney while they presented together at the AMAs, though it’s important to note that she was likely just reading the teleprompter.
The two country stars presented the award for Favorite Country Band/Duo/Group together at the 2025 American Music Awards on Monday night (May 26) at the Fontainebleau hotel in Las Vegas.
While presenting the award, Megan pointed out how a previous winner “basically invented country music.”

Megan noted that at the first AMAs in 1974, “this award went to The Carter Family, who basically invented country music.”
Upon hearing this, Shaboozey rolled his eyes and then laughed before continuing with the presentation. This year’s award went to Dan + Shay.
