Shaun Murphy produced a stirring fightback to win five consecutive frames and progress to the Shanghai Masters final with a 10-8 victory over Mark Selby.
Selby led 8-5 as he looked on course to reach a third final but his fellow Englishman recovered impressively.
Earlier, Murphy had pulled back to 6-5, having trailed 6-2 towards the end of the morning session.
The match had been tied at 2-2 before Selby – the 2011 Shanghai Masters winner and 2016 runner-up – took four frames in a row, including breaks of 53, 72 and 53, to move clear.
Murphy will face either Ronnie O’Sullivan or Judd Trump, who meet in the other semi-final on Saturday.
The final is on Sunday, with the winner pocketing £210,000 in prize money.
