Shaved Onion Patty Melt Recipe

It’s no surprise that the Oklahoma onion burger is beloved for its oniony taste. The onion works double-time by lending its flavor and also ensuring the patties stay juicy. The key is a very thinly sliced onion that will cook as quickly as the patties before the sliced onion is sandwiched between the meat and a slice of American cheese. But the real head-turner in this burger recipe is inverting the brioche buns so the inside of the buns are toasted in butter until deliciously golden.
