7 Spring Jacket Trends You’ll Be Seeing Everywhere This Season

Spring is always the most difficult season to dress, in our opinion. The hot temperatures of the summer are right on the cusp of returning, yet it’s still cold enough to need some sort of outerwear and long pants most spring days. The quintessential spring piece is a light jacket—easy enough to throw and and take off throughout the day. Keep your look relevant with one of these seven spring 2025 jacket trends that you will be seeing everywhere for the next few months.

The Penny Lane Jacket

The ’70s are back, baby! But really, were they ever actually gone? The latest jacket trend you’ll be seeing everything this spring is the Penny Lane jacket. “The Penny Lane jackets and coats have a fur trim and are typically more distressed or worn out looking, with a nod to 1970s vintage,” says Miami-based wardrobe stylist Samantha Brown.

The Bouclé Jacket

Look no further if you’re after a piece that exudes elegance. “The bouclé jacket’s texture infuses a bit of sophistication and luxury into most outfits,” explains Danya Gammas, a personal stylist, style coach, and founder of StylaVu in Detroit, Michigan. “Bouclé jackets are like the ultimate throwback with a modern twist—super classy but also crazy versatile, which is why they’re such a spring staple.”

The Suede Blazer

The suede blazer is the ultimate blend of sophistication and comfort, making it a spring wardrobe hit. “The elevated version of your trusted blazer, I especially love this in shades of rich chocolate, tan, or burgundy,” says fashion stylist Masha Ossovskaya.

The Barn Jacket

We’re going to be seeing a lot more “quiet luxury” fashion this spring, and the classic barn jacket fits this trend perfectly. A barn jacket is a timeless piece that’s typically made with high-qualtiy materials and is meant to last a long time. “Barn jackets are lightweight, oftentimes quilted with a contrast collar in corduroy,” explains Brown.

The Cropped Trench Coat

The classic trench gets a modern makeover this spring season with a shorter cut that hits just right. “It is sleek and polished, and pairs like a dream with high-waisted pants or skirts,” explains Gammas. “The cropped trench coat is perfect for those not-too-hot, not-too-cold days. It’s versatile, fresh, and gives a nod to tradition while feeling totally current.”

The Unexpected Denim Jacket

“This is an unexpected silhouette for an oversized denim jacket, which Gisele wore as a dress,” says Brown. “Denim is constantly evolving and always in style, but this season it feels fresh with exaggerated shoulders, defined waistlines, asymmetry, and other unexpected details.”

Oversized Leather Jacket

The leather jacket is always in style, but for spring 2025 this jacket is getting bigger—literally. “The oversized, ‘90s-inspired ‘gangster’ cut featuring wide shoulders, straight cuts, and rich textures like patent and distressed leather is trending this season,” says Gammas. “A classic black is still a safe go-to, but deep chocolate, dark green, and graphite shades are making waves.”
