Amy Klobuchar Spent ‘Weekends’ at Container Store Searching for Order

Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar appeared on The View Monday, to share a all-too-literal story about organized chaos.

While Klobuchar admitted that she was cautiously optimistic about Donald Trump’s second term in office when she delivered remarks at the president’s inauguration, the senator says she quickly realized that Trump’s administration only had self-serving interests at heart. “Chaos is up, corruption is up and costs are up,” she told The View hosts, adding that while “costs are going up for you,” Trump and Elon Musk “are giving tax cuts to their rich friends.”

Pressed for a message to viewers, the Democratic senator cited her own disenfranchised feelings since the inauguration, saying it’s important, “To not give up, to not look down [and] to not end up in The Container Store like I did for three weekends in a row cause I decided I wanted to bring order to my life.”

Klobuchar added that one interaction in particular at The Container Store made her feel less alone in her frustrations. “This constituent comes up and says, ‘I know why you’re here,’ the senator reccounted. “It’s cause you feel like everything’s out of control and you’re trying to control it.”

Klobuchar told a similar story in a recent podcast interview with The Daily Beast. As the publication notes, the four-term senator “was on the hunt for baskets to organize her coffee and tea collection—and, in retrospect, the broader sense of satisfaction that comes with things being the way they’re supposed to be.”

While Klobuchar is likely just a fan and not officially endorsed by The Container Store, the home organization brand does have current collaborations with the likes of Queer Eye star Tan France, and Jason and Kylie Kelce, who used the store’s Garage+ By Elfa system for a full garage makeover.

Klobuchar, meantime, is hoping for a little makeover of her own, telling The View that the Democratic party is working hard to restore some civility to the country. Asked by panelist Ana Navarro to respond to constituents who believe their representatives aren’t doing enough to fight Trump, Klobuchar says it’s far from the truth. “I want you all to know that we’re on the offense right now,” she said. “We are in this in a big way.”
