HBO Announces ‘Harry Potter’ Casting – Harry, Hermione & Ron Actors Revealed! | Alastair Stout, Arabella Stanton, Dominic McLaughlin, Harry Potter | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

HBO is announcing the cast of the upcoming Harry Potter TV series.

The network revealed the three actors who will be taking on the iconic roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.

Newcomers Dominic McLaughlin stars in the role of Harry Potter, while Arabella Stanton is Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout stars as Ron Weasley.

Showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner and director and executive producer Mark Mylod said: “After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

The series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter books by author and executive producer J.K. Rowling. Each season will bring Harry Potter to new and existing audiences, streaming exclusively on HBO Max where it’s available, including in upcoming launch markets Germany, Italy and the UK. The original classic films will remain available to watch around the world.

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson portrayed Harry, Ron and Hermione in all eight of the Harry Potter films.

Previously announced cast members include John Lithgow as Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Transfiguration professor Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Potions master Severus Snape, Nick Frost as groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid, Paul Whitehouse as curmudgeonly caretaker Argus Filch, and British stage vet Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, who teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts during Harry’s first year at Hogwarts.

Production begins this summer.
