I Love the Koolaburra Burree Slippers, and They’re Finally Back at Amazon

My medium-height Ugg boots are the only shoes I want to wear once temperatures drop below freezing. They’re toasty warm and they’re as comfortable as slippers, which I’ve decided are my two must-haves in winter shoes. I’ve long wanted to add a pair of Tasman slippers to my collection, but I couldn’t quite justify the price. So when Ugg’s sister brand Koolaburra announced the debut of its lookalike Burree slipper that’s $35 less than Ugg’s version, I actually gasped before I scooped up a pair. Spoiler: These shoes are so good. In fact, they sold out almost instantly, but they’re finally back in stock at Amazon.

Koolaburra says its new Burree slippers are cute enough to wear at home and out of the house. Just based on that alone, I knew I was on board. After all, warmth and comfort are paramount in my book when temperatures are in the teens and 20s for days on end. But when I took a closer look at the braided stitching, cozy faux fur, and usable back pull tab, I felt like I had found a shoe that was both cute and functional. And I’m thrilled to say, I was right.

The shoes are offered in whole sizes 5 to 12 in black, chestnut, sand, limewash, and red sand, and I decided at the last minute to size up by a full size when Koolaburra kindly offered to send me a pair of Burree slippers to test for free last year. Because of the clog style, I knew I would likely want to wear these with socks to keep my heels and ankles covered, and I worried they would feel too tight in my typical size 6. I’m so happy I followed through on my instinct: With socks, the slightly bigger size fits perfectly. 

My mom has a pair of Koolaburra boots that she loves, so I’ve seen the brand in action. Even still, I worried that the overall fit and feel of the brand would differ wildly from its more expensive counterpart. That concern was squashed the moment I tried on my new slippers. Other than the small Koolaburra insignia on the top side of the shoes, these look, feel, and fit exactly like a pair of Uggs. The shoes are warm and comfortable, and I love how they hug my feet and stay in place while I walk. 

Because I knew I wanted to wear my slippers outside, I treated them with a protectant spray to keep them from getting scuffed and marked up with dirt and water. This helped maintain their brand-new look. I styled mine with jeans and leggings on days when I wanted to look and feel more relaxed last winter, and I can’t wait to start wearing them again.
