Introducing the new-school tuna salad. Succulent canned yellowfin tuna is paired with crunchy celery and luxurious nonpareil capers. It’s brought to life with a drizzle of our zesty Whole Lemon Vinaigrette, which adds a burst of bright acidity and fresh lemon flavor in every single bite. Enjoy it over buttery crackers, wrapped in crisp lettuce, or sandwiched between slices of your favorite bread for a truly delightful meal.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between oil-packed versus water-packed tuna?

Like the names suggest, oil-packed tuna is canned tuna packed in oil—usually olive oil—and water-packed canned tuna is packed with water. The choice between the two varieties mostly comes down to preference or recipe specifics, but oil-packed tuna is generally more flavorful than water-packed.

  • What are nonpareil capers?

Nonpareil capers are the smallest capers (normally no more than seven millimeters in size) and have a tighter, firmer texture than larger capers. They are prized for their briny, tangy taste and have a more intense flavor. The term nonpareil translates to “has no equal” in French.

Notes from the Food & Wine Test Kitchen

We recommend using canned yellowfin tuna for this recipe because of its crisp, rich flavor, but any variety of canned tuna can work.
