These Quince Petite Jeans Are Perfect for My 5’2” Frame

I’m 5-foot-2, and my legs are on the shorter side, so I have the toughest time finding flattering jeans with the right length. Even jeans that are labeled petite are usually too long, requiring hemming or an upturned cuff. So, when I saw that Quince, one of my favorite petite-friendly brands, was getting into the jeans market, I immediately ordered some—and they’re literally the best pair of jeans I’ve ever owned.

Real Simple

Quince’s Bella Stretch Kick Flare Jeans have everything I look for in comfy jeans. They’re slightly stretchy with a high-rise, and they’ve got just the right amount of hug to look flattering without being too skintight. But most important, the 26-inch inseam is perfect for my petite frame. Usually when I find a 26-inch inseam, it’s on cropped jeans meant for taller folks—so the length is right, but the overall fit is a little off. But these Quince jeans are the perfect length and fit, so they’ve become the first pants I reach for in my closet.

I’ve worn these jeans everywhere—going out to dinner, shopping for groceries, walking the dog, vacuuming the house—and they’re comfortable no matter what I’m doing. They move with me and never feel constricting, saggy, or stretched out—and this is coming from someone who has really high standards for comfort from wearing WFH lounge pants every day. You could easily pair these with a dressy top for date night or with a tee and sneakers for an afternoon of errands.

The high-rise waist hits well above the navel, and I experience zero waistline gaps when I crouch or bend over. “The length is perfect, the waist/hip/leg fit is so flattering, and they don’t stretch out!” wrote one reviewer who is 4-foot-10. At first I wasn’t sure about the flared silhouette, since flare jeans can overwhelm my frame, but the flare is pretty modest. The 17.5-inch leg opening fits easily over ankle boots or sneakers but feels more like a bootcut than a wide flare.

You can choose from three inseams: 26, 28, and 30 inches. I ended up buying a 26-inch inseam to wear with flats and a 28-inch inseam to go with heels. Buying jeans in two inseams would normally feel a bit indulgent, but these cost so much less than other jeans I’ve bought, and they fit so much better. Not to mention, I’ve previously tried jeans in a similar price range only to find the denim stretched out and barely kept its shape after a few hours. These Quince jeans stay put and retain their shape all day long, so they’re a great value for the quality.

The jeans come in medium wash, midnight blue, and black. I loved the medium wash, but returned the black because it felt a bit stiffer. That’s likely because the medium wash and midnight blue are made with 94 percent cotton whereas the black contains 63 percent cotton, plus polyester, viscose, and lycra.

“I’m 5-foot-1 and am thrilled to say that these jeans fall at the perfect full length for me,” wrote a five-star reviewer. “They don’t touch the floor and aren’t ankle length—just a perfect full-length pant fit.” Another reviewer wrote, “Great rise and perfect length for petite. Fabric is soft with just enough stretch and thickness.”

I can’t stop wearing the Quince Bella Stretch Kick Flare Jeans, and I’m already eyeing more styles. If you want to check out more petite-friendly jeans from my new go-to brand, here are some other styles that come in 26-inch and 28-inch inseams.
