Kid Cudi Thinks Diddy Hurt His Dog AND Blew Up His Car! All Because Cassie 'Played' Him!
Kid Cudi has taken the stand in Diddy’s trial — and he’s comparing him to a “Marvel supervillain”!
On Thursday, the Pursuit of Happiness rapper testified in the Bad Boy Records founder’s sex trafficking trial and had a lot to say about that infamous car bombing, a break-in, some potential animal abuse… It’s so twisted!
Cassie developed a romance with Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, in 2011, apparently when she and Diddy were still together. And when the rap mogul found out about it in December 2011, he got pissed — and allegedly got violent! Cassie testified Diddy flipped out and lunged at her with a corkscrew, kicked her in the back leaving her with visible bruises, and made a shocking threat against Cudi. She detailed it in her November 2023 lawsuit against Diddy, claiming then that he threatened to blow up Cudi’s car. And guess what? Shortly after, the musician’s car DID explode! In his driveway!
But even before that, Cudi had a run-in with Diddy that would be enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine.

While on the stand on Thursday, the Day ‘n’ Nite rapper claimed he was unaware Cassie was still involved with Diddy at the time of their romance. Per CNN‘s account of the testimony, he told the court she’d told him they’d “had some problems and they weren’t dating anymore.” So he went for it. According to multiple outlets, he claimed he was “in love” with her.
But soon he realized she led “two different lives.” Around the time Diddy found out about their fling, Cudi recalled the Me & U singer acting “stressed, nervous, [and] scared.” He also claimed Cassie admitted to giving the Bad Boy for Life rapper his address… Which led to a home invasion!
He testified his then-assistant Capricorn Clark informed him in December 2011 that Diddy had broken into his LA home after learning of their affair. He claimed he had Diddy’s number from “years ago,” so he called him and asked, “Motherf**ker, you in my house?” He testified Diddy responded:
“I just want to talk to you.”
His security cameras apparently weren’t working at the time, but when he arrived at home he saw evidence someone had been there. Like previously unopened gifts had been rummaged through. But most importantly, his dog Freshie — who had been able to walk the home freely — was locked inside of a bathroom! Not only that, the little guy was “jittery” like he’d been hurt or scared by someone! Poor pooch!
Cudi testified he filed a police report about the break-in, but nothing ever came of it. Shocking, right?
Then a month later, the car bombing happened. Now we finally have Kid Cudi’s side — and it’s a lot scarier than it sounded tbh! The 41-year-old rapper testified that in January 2012, his dog sitter called him up sometime between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. local time to inform him his “car was on fire.” He recalled arriving to discover the driver’s side of his Porsche 911 Cabriolet had been badly burned, which confused him. He recalled thinking at the time:
“Uhh, what the f**k?”
But it wasn’t an accident… According to Cudi, what was left of a molotov cocktail was found on the ground nearby. Whoa… You can see the damage — and get a sense of just how much danger we’re talking about in the photos shown to the jury!
Imagine if someone had been in there! But the most important pic is this next one. See, Cudi testified:
“It looks like the top of my Porsche was cut open, and that’s where the Molotov cocktail was put in.”
And here you can see exactly that.
That’s pretty clear evidence this wasn’t some accident, some electrical fire. This was arson. Someone did this on purpose.
Cudi went on to testify he believes Diddy “had something to do” with the frightening incident — makes sense considering what Cassie previously said about the threat. However, Diddy’s legal team objected to the sentiment, and it was stricken from the record. The defense attorney also noted that DNA matching that of a female had been found on the vehicle.
After the break-in AND the car fire, Cudi called the cops to report the incidents and eventually met up with Diddy later that month at Soho House to discuss everything. He recalled the defamed rapper looking like a “Marvel supervillain” during their rendezvous as he was “staring out the window with his hands behind his back.” He testified:
“His whole point was we were homies, you know. ‘That was my girl.’ I let him know she told me they were broken up and I took her word for it.”
He recounted how they were getting past it — until he asked Diddy about the car bombing, to which the 55-year-old responded with a “cold stare.” He allegedly said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” and then:
“Wait, I thought we were cool. Is there a problem?”
Cudi went on to testify that he did receive an apology years later. He ran into Diddy in a club, and the controversial Combs actually said he was sorry for everything. And that helped him to feel “at peace” about the debacle.
As for his relationship with Cassie? That’s a little more complicated. He testified he really believed she was single. He also claimed Cassie had told him about the physical abuse she suffered at Diddy’s hands. So when she went back to Diddy when all was said and done, it “upset” him. He testified he felt “played” by Cassie. Ouch.
