The Best Summer Nail Polish Is Inspired by Jarritos Sodas

First came the food-scented candles, then came the ranch-flavored lip balm, and now we have Jarritos-themed nail polish.

If there is one thing to know about me it’s that I love having my digits adorned with food-themed nail art. I am typing this very article with fingertips decked out in multicolored 3D gummy worms and gummy bears. So you can imagine my sheer joy when the nail world announced its newest twist of sparkling innovation earlier this week.

Jarritos Mexican sodas, known for their vibrant fruit flavors and iconic glass bottles, are stepping out of the beverage aisle with a new soda-themed jelly nail polish line, launching today in collaboration with Cirque Colors. Whether you’re a fan of the tart and tangy Mandarin or the sweet and sour Guava, there’s a Jarritos polish color for you. The full collection — which is vegan and cruelty-free — captures the essence of the bubbly drinks, with ever-so-slightly translucent shades that mirror the bright, bold hues of the iconic sodas.

Jarritos, developed in Mexico by chemist Don Francisco Hill, debuted its first coffee-flavored soda in the 1950s, and by the ’60s the brand offered a wide variety of flavors — including the world’s first tamarindo soda — that were sold throughout the country. Jarritos hit the US market in 1988, quickly becoming the top-selling Mexican product in Hispanic grocers. Today, the drinks are synonymous with taco trucks and street food in cities across America, pairing perfectly with al pastor tacos or mariscos.

There’s no better way to round out the seemingly endless summer heatwaves than to have your nails match your bev. And whether you’re up to date on the latest nail trends (looking at you, glazed donut manicure) or just a quirky Jarritos fan, the refreshingly cool shades of deep orange, blush pink, electric yellow, green, and sultry fuschia are crowd-pleasers. As for me, I’m toying between getting one nail of every color, or a full set of sheer baby pink in homage to the best of all Jarritos flavors. (It’s Guava, and not up for debate.)
