The Internet Has THOUGHTS On Jason Isaacs Saying There Is A ‘Double Standard’ For Male Nudity After White Lotus Full-Frontal Scene!

Jason Isaacs may regret what he had to say about that full-frontal scene in The White Lotus now!

You may have seen it already, but if you haven’t, here is the deal! While talking to his family on the show, his character Timothy Ratliff wears nothing but a robe. When we say nothing, we mean it! The Harry Potter alum was fully nude underneath! At one point, Timothy leaned back and accidentally exposed the goods! Check it out (below):

OMG! Naturally, the moment had fans’ jaws dropping and got them talking online. Many couldn’t help but wonder: Was it a prosthetic? Don’t expect an answer directly from Jason! He’s sick of the discussion over the matter!

During an appearance on CBS Mornings on Friday, he was asked about whether he wore a prosthetic for the full-frontal scene. But instead of answering the question, he went off about how the conversation surrounding nudity in films is treated differently for men than women. He said:

“A lot of people are debating it. It’s all over the internet. And it’s interesting because the best actress this year is Mikey Madison at the Oscars. And I don’t see anybody discussing her vulva, which was on [the screen] all the time. It’s interesting that there’s a double standard for men. But when women are naked, Margaret Qualley as well, in ‘The Substance,’ nobody would dream of talking to her about her genitalia or her nipples or any of those things. So, it’s odd that there’s a double standard.”

Yes, Mikey did not talk about her genitalia in interviews — but nudity and sex scenes frequently came up. Margaret even talked about wearing prosthetic breasts and her nude scenes. Just worth noting…

When pushed, Jason declined to answer “because I don’t think that people really want to know how the sausage is made.” (FYI, his co-stars Sarah Catherine Hook and Sam Nivola confirmed he did wear a prosthetic peen!) He added:

“Genuinely, I think it would be odd when there are characters — and some of the women are naked in here — it’d be odd if you were sitting here. And you would never dream of discussing their genitalia, not for a second. Mike White is a brilliant writer; it’s the best series on television for a long time. And what is the obsession with penises? It’s an odd thing.”

We mean, it is talked about so much because full-frontal nude scenes for men happen few and far between! We have seen more women show off their bodies, ALL of it, all the time for YEARS to the point where it has become so normalized! However, Jason (and any star) has a right to not talk about it if he doesn’t want to, and everyone should respect that boundary. Watch the conversation (below):

Following the interview Jason’s comments have the internet a bit divided! Some folks are a bit upset with him because they feel he is trying to say women have it easier than men when it comes to being asked about nude scenes, and there’s no focus on their body. However, as users noted, women in Hollywood — and in general — are constantly scrutinized and asked about their appearance, whether they’re fully nude or clothed! See the reactions (below):

“Wtf kind of warped bubble is he in?! Women get dissected and scrutinized all of the time asking about their weight, bra size, and are made into sex objects for male consumption. This is so off base, out of touch, and tone deaf. But sure your prosthetic penis is an albatross…”

“Not a man talking about double standards in nude scenes when the number of naked women on screen doesn’t even come close to the men’s.”

“Nah. Let’s not do this. Actresses are constantly asked about their nude scenes. Even when they’re not nude they’re questioned about their underwear or what wax they’ve had in so called professional interviews. He wore a prosthetic, it’s not the same.”

“I really can believe im reading about a man complaining about talking more about his body than the woman’s bodys. Its a bait, right? Hes joking, right? Even the more nonsense of guys could be so out of reality that way.”

“Because women have been shown naked for years – it’s old news. Men are finally getting the same treatment and they don’t like it – too bad. Women have been sexualised for years.”

“mikey never shows any vulva lmao. the most we see are her boobs. and margaret has been saying in multiple interviews her boobs were enhanced with prosthetics. so whats the deal here?”

Meanwhile, others praised Jason for calling out the CBS Morning interviewers! See (below):

“Why did you insist on asking about Jason’s penis? He was to call you out on that. I love listening to your show, but this was a terrible moment. He was there to talk about White Lotus, not be questioned about whether or not his penis was a prosthetic. Shame on you.”

“If you know Jason Isaacs and his opinions AT ALL you would know he’s 100% going to call them out on this each and every time.. and he’s going to be right every time too. No-one shouldn’t be asking publicly about anyones body parts regardless. Good on you Jason!”

“well he has a point, but it’s kinda more complicated than that imo. people aren’t freaking out over female nudity because honestly, it’s been normalized in film for ages. meanwhile, male full-frontal still gets people talking just because it’s rarer. It’s not really a double standard in the way he’s saying but it’s more like women’s bodies have been picked apart for so long that no one bats an eye anymore, which is its own problem.”

It’s safe to say Jason tried and failed to stop all the online chatter about his White Lotus scene…
