“I am incredibly proud of Cody. It takes an immense amount of courage to give up your will and enter treatment, and I could not be more proud,” she continued. “As many of you have noticed for the last several months, Cody really has not been around. And now you know why.”
In her video, Mikayla said Cody relapsed on drugs in January 2024 and started drinking again in April of that year.
“In 2024, I faced some of the scariest nights of my life,” she shared. “I’m talking calling the police because I’m scared my husband’s gonna die.”
She added she “had a little bit of a mental breakdown” in December and revealed they have been living separately for some time.
“I watched his addiction worsen, and it became so hard in our home,” Mikayla continued, adding, “and I had to make the really difficult decision to remove Cody from our home, he ended up getting his own apartment.”
Mikayla noted that Cody “hit rock bottom” and she was afraid she was going to lose him so she secretly took one of the keys, “because I was so scared that if he overdosed or hurt himself, I wouldn’t have a way to get in.”
Last month, Mikayla reveals that he called and told her he was going to seek treatment.
“He says, ‘I’m done and I’m going to rehab,’” she shared. “I can’t explain the feeling of sleepless nights, every night worried about my husband, to knowing that over the last month and a half, he’s been in a safe place, getting treatment and getting help, and finding his path to sobriety.”
Mikayla says she’ll support him for however he feels he needs to be in rehab and will be “waiting for him with open arms.”
Mikayla and Cody have been together for several years, often documenting some of their major life changes online, including moving into their new home after her TikTok success and more.
The couple tied the knot in July 2023 in front of friends and family, including several big-name influencers.
