Transfer Talk: Liverpool eye Éderson as Slot’s first signing

The summer transfer window won’t reopen in Europe for another month, but there are plenty of moves in the works and gossip swirling around. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz on rumours, comings, goings and, of course, done deals!

TOP STORY: Liverpool close in on Éderson

Liverpool are interested in signing Atalanta midfielder Éderson, according to Tuttosport.

Scouts from the Premier League club are believed to have watched La Dea recently, and it is reported that the 24-year-old caught their attention while they were keeping an eye on his teammate Teun Koopmeiners. The Reds are now preparing to make an approach to land him in what could be the first signing of new manager Arne Slot’s tenure.

Éderson enjoyed a bright season for Atalanta, scoring six goals while assisting another one in 35 Serie A appearances. He featured in a total of 52 matches across all competitions for Gian Piero Gasperini’s Europa League winners, with performances that earned him a call up to the Brazil national team for the upcoming Copa America, which is set to take place in the United States in June.

He has three years remaining on his deal at Gewiss Stadium, but it looks as though interest from the Premier League is resurfacing after he was linked with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in January.
