Trevor Noah to Host 2025 Grammy Awards
The comedian and former Daily Show host has helmed music’s biggest night every year since 2021
Trevor Noah will return as host for the 67th Grammy Awards, which take place next month.
The stand-up and former Daily Show host has become a reliable steward of “music’s biggest night,” bringing to the occasion his comedic chops, as well as a deep love and enthusiasm for music. He first hosted the Grammys in 2021 and has returned every year since.
Speaking with Variety last year, Noah spoke about one of the biggest challenges of hosting the Grammys, especially compared to any other show: “I know this sounds like a weird thing to say, but you don’t want to disappoint the artists that you love. Like, I cannot imagine what it would be like to tell a joke and turn and see Beyoncé going [shakes his head and scowls]. Because that would mean whenever I listened to Beyoncé’s music, I would forever have that image in my head. If you don’t do well for a live audience, OK, you’re gonna bounce back; if you don’t do well for a home audience, OK, some people are going to comment online. But to have the look of disappointment come from an icon or somebody that you really love — I do not wish for that experience. So I work twice as hard.”
The 2025 Grammy Awards will take place Feb. 2, airing live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. While the main show is still scheduled to go ahead as planned, the Recording Academy has canceled several Grammy week events because of the ongoing Palisades and Eaton wildfires. Some of the events that are still scheduled to go ahead, such as Clive Davis’ annual Pre-Grammys Gala, will double as fundraisers for wildfire relief efforts. (And though not under the Recording Academy’s umbrella, the major FireAid benefit concert is set to take place in L.A. a few days before the Grammys on Jan. 30.)
The 2025 Grammy Awards will find Beyoncé competing for a whopping 11 awards, including Song, Record, and Album of the Year for “Texas Hold ‘Em” and Cowboy Carter, respectively. Other top nominees this year include Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, and Charli XCX (who all earned seven nominations) and Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan (who each earned six).
