Vanessa Hudgens took to Instagram on Thursday to criticize the publication of photos revealing the birth of her first child, writing that her family’s privacy had been violated as she left the hospital.
“We’re disappointed that our family’s privacy was disrespected and exploited during this very special time due to the greed of a long lens camera feeding the media,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. TMZ first reported news that Hudgens’ baby had arrived, and published photos of the actress leaving the hospital with her husband Cole Tucker and the infant.
“Despite all of that, mom dad and baby are happy and healthy,” the High School Musical star concluded.
Hudgens first revealed her pregnancy on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards, where she was hosting The Oscars Red Carpet Show for the third year in a row. She married Tucker, a Major League Baseball player, in December 2023.
Hudgens appeared most recently in Bad Boys: Ride or Die alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. In May, she told E! News that she’s excited to show her future children all her acting work.
“That’s why I chose things along the way in my career,” she said. “I wanted to make sure that when I did have kids, there would be something for them to watch at every age.”
