Vanessa Hudgens just filmed her first movie since becoming a mom!

The 36-year-old actress welcomed her first child with husband Cole Tucker back in June 2024 and she’s heading back into the spotlight after enjoying time as a new mom.

Vanessa just wrapped production on her film Quiet Storm.

Deadline reports that the “film takes place in the summer of 1969, as the infamous Hurricane Camille marks its tragic landfall. Hudgens plays a romance novelist trapped indoors during the storm as she struggles to cope with the reality of an ever-changing world.”

Quiet Storm, a dramatic thriller, explores “themes from the ’60s such as women’s liberation and the Black Power movement.”

Anthony Thorne is making his directorial debut with the movie, which he also wrote He’s also starring in the movie as the husband of Vanessa‘s character.

The cast is rounded out by Mira Sorvino, Seydou Maiga, Sophia Chapdelaine, Cody John, and Elysée Sanvillé.

Vanessa is a lead producer and her longtime friend Oliver Trevena is also a producer on the project. Acclaimed filmmaker Nick Cassavetes is attached as an executive producer.

Recently, Vanessa and Oliver debuted a new project as part of their Caliwater business.
