Liv Morgan Def. Tiffany Stratton
Tiffany Stratton crashed the opening promo exchange between Nia Jax and Liv Morgan. She came out like a house afire and threatened to cash in on both Nia and Tiffany. Tiffy later told Nia that she was’t really going to cash in on Nia. These were just mind games she was playing with Liv and all part of her plan.
Liv Morgan beat Tiffany Stratton with a rollup. A brawl ensued after where basically everybody but Stratton used the Money in the Bank briefcase as a weapon. Jax then destroyed Morgan with an Annihilator.
Carseat Kevin Owens continues to be one of the better promos in WWE. I think I like these promos than KO’s live promos.
Liv Morgan vs. Tiffany Stratton Grade: B-
The Street Profits Def. Pretty Deadly
This was basically a consolation match after The Street Profits and Pretty Deadly recently lost in a Triple Threat tag team match.
Lin Manuel Miranda was in the building and Pretty Deadly accosted him with Playbills. Corey Graves marked out of his mind for Miranda.
This crowd had been in the building for well over two hours, and though they were lively in the opening segment, they were fatigued here.
As always, Dawkins had a great comeback and it got the crowd back into the match.
Pretty Deadly had an awesome double-team move where Kit Wilson launched Elton Prince with his back into a Codebreaker. B-Fab answered with a body slam on the outside to Prince.
Pretty Deadly vs. The Street Profits Grade: B+
Bayley And Naomi Def. Candice LeRae And Indi Hartwell
Sadly, this would be Indi Hartwell’s final match as she was released today alongside Baron Corbin and Tegan Nox. Indi wanted to become a wrestler because of Bayley’s legendary match against Sasha Banks in the Barclays Center, so this was a very poetic ending.
Michael Cole shared a story about how WWE was scouting Candice LeRae but ended up discovering Bayley, who went on to super stardom. This is a story that should be told through a feud between Bayley and Candice.
Naomi tagged in for one of the colder hot tags you’ll ever see, but the crowd was spent at this point.
Candice took the pinfall, which considering what happened with Indi, that’s wild.
Bayley and Naomi vs. Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell Grade: B-
Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso Appear Live
Fans were far more lively for the OTC and Jimmy Uso.
Jimmy asked Roman to squash the beef with Jey Uso, which led to chants of “squash the beef!”
Fans sang every word of Jey’s theme song well after it ended. It was awesome.
Jey Uso told Roman Reigns he was not his lackey, but his equal. He told Roman To act like a cousin and not a Tribal Chief. Reigns Responded simply, but efficiently: “Yeet.”
The Bloodline answered “hug it out chants by instead throwing up the one’s.
OG Bloodline Segment Grade: A
Iyo Sky Def. Bianca Belair, Lash Legend And Piper Niven
Bianca Belair cut a promo prior to making her way to the ring alongside Jade Cargill in a one-piece.
Iyo Sky was doing some of her best work during the picture-in-picture, including back-to-back handstand backflips.
This was a very ambitious match, which even featured a Tower of Doom/Doomsday Device spot where Iyo Sky did a missile dropkick on the remaining three women stacked up. Bianca answered with a Power Bomb of doom of her own.
There was a lot of heat for Jade Cargill and Lash Legend coming face-to-face.
Sky won by vulturing a victory and pinning Lash Legend.
Women’s Fatal 4-Way Grade: A-
Cody Rhodes And Randy Orton Def. GUNTHER And Ludwig Kaiser
WWE aired a vignette for Andrade, LA Knight and Carmelo Hayes ahead of their Triple Threat match.
There was a surprising amount of interaction between Cody and GUNTHER considering they’re going one-on-one the next night on a PLE.
The announcers really played up the idea that Cody Rhodes may be overextending himself—to GUNTHER’s point—which makes him vulnerable for Crown Jewel.
Rhodes and Randy picked up a pretty easy win with a pair of comebacks against Ludwig Kaiser. Cody and Randy are definitely losing tomorrow.
KO attacked Orton after the chyron showed on the screen. This led to GUNTHER choking out Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton vs. GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser Grade: B
