Yung Miami broke her silence over the allegations against her ex-boyfriend Diddy this week, saying she can’t speak to those who have accused the disgraced rapper of abuse as “that wasn’t my experience.”
Yung Miami, real name Caresha Brownlee, addressed the allegations during a conversation with Saucy Santana during the season two premiere of her Revolt TV show, Caresha Please, on Thursday. Sean “Diddy” Combs founded Revolt in 2013, though he stepped down from the company in June and a statement at the time confirmed he was not involved in day-to-day operations.
Brownlee and Combs first became romantically linked in 2021. Combs joined her on Caresha Please shortly after the show’s launch in 2022, though their relationship quietly ended sometime after that. The couple attended the Met Gala together in 2023, though told the press they were there as friends.
Diddy’s stepping away from Revolt came around the same time of reports that the rapper had a long history of violence against women, including allegations of rape from his ex Cassie, as well as lawsuits regarding assault and sex trafficking. In March, several of his homes were raided by Homeland Security and in May, a 2016 video surfaced showing him beating Cassie in a hotel hallway.
“I can’t speak on something that wasn’t my experience, I can’t speak on something I don’t know,” Brownlee said of the abuse allegations against her ex. “I can’t speak on these allegations because I wasn’t around at the time. I don’t know that person and that wasn’t my experience.”
She added, “I met Diddy… when the world was celebrating him…. He was getting the global icon award, the lifetime achievement award, the key to the city. He had a a new album coming ou,t and I was just celebrating him with the world. I just feel like everybody [is] trying to crucify me for it 1723176636.”
In one of the lawsuits filed against Diddy earlier this year, music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones named Brownlee when he claimed that Combs would brag about Brownlee and other women on his payroll.
“When all these things came out, I just needed to take a break and focus on what’s important, which is me and my career and my family,” she said on Thursday. “[I needed to] let him navigate and figure that out on his own because I can’t be caught up in that.”
When Santana asked again if Diddy had ever been physically violent against her, Brownlee said she has been a victim of domestic violence in the past, and it is something she “doesn’t stand for.” She also spoke about her approach to their relationship being from a place of business and education. “I went into that relationship on a more of like, ‘I want to become a mogul and I want to learn under you,’” she said.
She also said, through tears, that the last few months have been difficult. “One minute I’m happy, one minute I’m sad,” she said. “One minute, I’m kinda like, ‘Fuck this shit.’ And then the next minute, I’m looking at my kids, like I didn’t bring us this far to go backwards.”
