Popeyes Just Launched Chocolate Chip Biscuits

Forget chocolate chip cookies. Those are so July. Popeyes is introducing a whole new bakery innovation to its menu this August: Chocolate Chip Biscuits. You read that right — biscuits filled with chocolate chips.

Building on the success of its fan-favorite Strawberry Biscuit, Popeyes’ dessert biscuit takes its iconic buttermilk biscuit and fills it with decadent chocolate chips. If that sounds too much like a breakfast item, fear not. A drizzle of icing then takes the biscuit to dessert biscuit territory.

If chocolate chips aren’t quite your thing, or if you want to double down on dessert (no judgment here), Popeyes is also launching a new Apple Caramel Cheesecake, which it describes as “a rich cheesecake swirled with a sweet and tangy caramel apple filling over a buttery graham cracker crust.” 

Both the Chocolate Chip Biscuit and Caramel Apple Cheesecake are available nationwide starting August 5, so you can snag one now. They’re adding to the existing dessert menu, not taking away from it, so you’ll still be able to get the brand’s Cinnamon Apple Pie as well as the chocolate chip biscuit’s strawberry brother or, dare we say, both the strawberry and chocolate for a chocolate-covered strawberry biscuit experience.

If you want a little chicken to go with your dessert, Popeyes is also introducing new $20 and $25 Bigger Boxes on August 12. The $20 Bigger Box includes your choice of ten pieces of Popeyes signature chicken or ten tenders, along with four of our famous buttermilk biscuits. If you need even more chicken, the $25 Bigger Box offers ten pieces of chicken, four regular sides, and four biscuits, which is enough for the whole fam.

If you’re flying solo, the chain is also bringing back the $6.99 Big Box, which includes two pieces of chicken or three tenders, two regular sides, and a single buttermilk biscuit. 

We’re betting those sweet treats will also pair nicely with Popeyes’ iconic fried chicken sandwich. In May, the chain introduced a new version of the menu item that arguably started the whole chicken sandwich wars of 2019: a Golden BBQ Chicken Sandwich. It comes on a buttered-and-toasted brioche bun and pickles and can be spruced up with Havarti cheese or Applewood smoked bacon.

The Chocolate Chip Biscuits, Apple Caramel Cheesecake, and Big Boxes will only be available for a limited time, so if you want to try one, you’ll want to head that way soon. You deserve it.
